Description(c.1880), an early edition, 188 pages with many text illustrations and line drawings, 12 colour plates each showing several species, fine example of Victorian binding, green cloth with gilt and black decoration on spine and a moth and fern embossed on the front board, interior stitching of pages very slightly loose but otherwise an excellent copy, published by George Routledge & Sons.
